Overview of benefits of employee wellness programs:

Curbing absenteeism: Employers have always struggled with absenteeism and loss of productivity that it causes. On the other hand, when employees come to work sick, they are spreading germs throughout the office, so everyone tends to become ill. If employers could find a way to keep employees healthier, there would be less absenteeism.

Lower insurance premiums!! We provide health assessments and can submit those to the insurance companies for a reduction in premiums OR we can use your HR departments current assessment and assist in completing those and re-assessing every 6 months.

Improving morale and productivity: Health experts report that exercise releases endorphins that help improve mood. People are happier, have a more positive outlook, which can translate to more energetic workers, better problem solving, and increased productivity. Participating in non-work activities together also strengthens employee relationship and your company culture.

Increasing employee retention: Employees feel valued when their companies invest in their well-being with wellness programs. This, and their positive attitude toward their work, makes them more likely to stay at their jobs

Saving money: Studies of the benefits that employee wellness programs can bring to a business show that for every dollar spend on wellness activities and programs, employers saved $3.27 on health care costs

What to Consider When Choosing a Corporate Wellness Program?

1-Program Impact and Proven Effectiveness

The primary consideration is whether the corporate wellness solution delivers what it says it does. Your focus may be health care cost reduction, employee engagement, retaining and attracting top talent, or organizational culture and morale. Isolate your primary objectives for investing in a wellness solution. Then, with each vendor, inquire about the platform’s results and how these results are determined.

2-Program Features

What does the wellness solution support and how does that align with your objectives? Review the platform to see how well it supports all aspects of wellbeing. Then, consider your long-term objectives and evaluate each vendor based on its ability to grow with your company.

3-Flexibility and Customization

Review how each potential vendor can customize its wellness solution, from content and the user interface to services and resources. There are many different levels of programs depending upon budget and involvement of a professional wellness coach. There are programs that simply provide software and/or an application for your company’s HR team to manage. The next level is a little more hands on. The wellness professional is involved in training the HR team and offers monthly lunch and learns and/or classes based on needs of the employees. Finally, the most effective program is a full hands on program. This is the best way to get started for at least the first quarter of your specific program because it is a very hands on dynamic. The corporate wellness coach handles everything from the software and apps to offering a well-rounded schedule of classes (educational, training, yoga, mindfulness) and a variety of team challenges.

4-Integration and Collaboration

Having a one-stop shop corporate wellness solution increases use and exposes employees to more of what’s available to them.

5-Reporting

You’ll want to know on a regular basis how your employees engage with the wellbeing program. How frequently do they return to the platform, and for what duration? What do they find most appealing? You may also want to peel back the layers and see how certain groups of employees use the platform and what impact that’s having. Get clear on what administrative rights you have so there are no surprises about how you gain access to reporting, or at what cost.

6-User Experience

The outcomes you desire rely on frequent use by your employees, making a well-designed user interface and user experience a requirement as well as availability of your corporate wellness professional. You’re seeking intuitive navigation, consistent communication, and a clear visual hierarchy so employees know where to find what they want and can accomplish what they want, efficiently and painlessly.

7-Engagement

Continuing use of the wellbeing program  is a key marker when evaluating a program’s performance. What employee percentage regularly interacts with the platform, its available content, and promoted activities and tools? Are current users drawn back and new users drawn in? How broad is each user’s engagement? Ideally, users would return to the platform’s many features and functions on a daily basis so they sustain healthy habits that drive long-term behavior change.

We offer incentives for participation as a wellness company and the companies that we serve may also offer inter-company incentives.
